It all started in February when mom wanted to take Daniel and Hailee on a service project in Red Rock canyon. The Disney store asked for some volunteers. Hailee couldn't go because she had a play date with her friend Becca that day. So Daniel and Mom headed up.
They freaked out when they got there and saw this was no ordinary service project,, it was even better than the Give a Day Get a Day Disney project. (Give a Day get a day was the program early this year where if you provided a day of service you got a 1 day ticket for free. They were giving out 1 million tickets- they were gone by April) Their Nationwide Tour had stopped at this project!!!!
No one had any idea! They fed them breakfast and lunch, gave them all sorts of Disney souvenirs and Disneyland goodies!

Soooo- Hailee was very excited for Daniel- one problem- we found out that if you do a Give a Day Get a Day- you can possibly be in a parade in Disneyland. She was bummed about this so we got on the website and found a project that Hailee could do. She decided to make blankets for homeless cats. Mom taught her how to make blankets.
Yes, she did most of the sewing herself- how impressed am I!!!
This was her pile of blankets to take over to Homeward Bound Pets.
They were so excited and impressed with my sweet little crafty girl! It was very exciting, now both of them could be in the parade!

It is really kind of neat that your kids are learning to do service for other people/animals. I hope they get to ride in the parade. When would you find out about that?
